Regular Care
Regular care is considered 10 hours per day. Parents can request care
for longer than ten hours, however, they will be required to pay an additional
fee. The chart below shows rates for 8-10 hours, 11 hours and 12 hours.
We give a discount for additional children in the same family. There
is a 10% discount off the tuition of the older sibling, and a 25% discount
on the tuition of one of two enrolled twins.

How do I arrange for regular care?
Submit a Registration Form for each child seeking enrollment, along with
a non-refundable registration fee of $75 (siblings are an additional $65).
Indicate your desire for full-time or part-time care on the registration
form. The Registration Form and the fee can be sent to:
The Johns Hopkins Child Care and Early Learning Center
98 N. Broadway, Baltimore, MD 21231
Attention: Rozalind Ferguson, Center Director.
Back-up Care
Back-up care is available to pre-registered children on a space-available
basis Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., except on the holidays the
Johns Hopkins Child Care and Early Learning Center is closed, or when the Center is closed for
other reasons. The annual registration fee for back-up care is $25.00
per child. Back-up care is charged at $8 per hour with a minimum of 4
hours.
To make reservations for back-up care, call the Center as soon as you
know you will be needing care. Complete an initial registration and
enrollment packet and submit that with a non-refundable $25 registration
fee for the back-up option.
The Wait-List
Our Center is very popular and we maintain a wait list for each of
the age groups. As soon as it is known that a space will be available,
the Director of the Center fills the space working from the wait list.
When a child is on the wait list, is there a preference
if a sibling has
already been accepted into the program?
Yes, siblings are given priority
for Center enrollment in an effort to accommodate and support families.
Is there a wait list for expecting mothers? Yes. The Initial Registration
Form includes a place for the family to specify when they anticipate
care for their child. Additionally, the family must indicate a
due date for their baby.
If someone is planning to have a child in the
future, how soon can he/she get on the wait list?
A family must indicate
a due date in order to be added to the wait list.
If we are planning to adopt, how do we go about getting on the wait list?
A
family must indicate an expected date of adoption and anticipated date of care.
What will happen if we change our anticipated care date?
The child will
be moved to the bottom of the list for care of the newly anticipated
month. Therefore,
it is important to plan carefully for your anticipated care date at the time
of your initial wait list registration.
